Rick Steadman

Award-winning Seattle-based actor, audiobook narrator, improviser and improv teacher, artistic director, and voiceover artist.

Acting

I’ve appeared on TV in Criminal Minds and Marvel’s Agent Carter, in several feature films, and in over a dozen national commercials. I’ve performed in plays in LA including at Theatre of NOTE, Sacred Fools Theater, Son of Semele, and with Mister & Mischief’s Escape from Godot, as well as in regional theatres.

Audiobooks and Voiceover

I'm an active audiobook narrator, with eleven titles to my name and counting. I'm a co-creator and cast member of Sonder: The Improvised Podcast. I also provided voice talent to the podcast Going Reno, and I'm in the cast of the English language dubs for the Netflix shows Wrong Side of the Tracks, Unauthorized Living, Undercover, Osmosis, and Wolf. I have a free-standing professional voiceover booth, with a Rode NT-1 mic, a Motu M2 audio interface, and a Mac Mini running Reaper as my DAW.

Improv and Teaching

I am the Artistic Director of CSz Seattle, Home of ComedySportz. Prior to that, I was a main company performer with ComedySportz LA from 2003-2023, and was Director of Education and Rec League Director there from 2015-2021. I've performed around LA as a member of the Impro Theatre Lab Ensemble, in the improvised HG Wells show Fantastic Tales, and as half of the two-person show One-Person Show, as well as throughout the US as a guest of a bunch of great improv theatres and companies. Prior to moving to LA, I was Associate Artistic Director and a founding player at ComedySportz Spokane. I've taught improv all around the US, specializing in improvised Shakespeare, creating emotional relationships, and making exciting story choices. I've taught every age level, from pre-school to senior citizens, classes of autistic students, religious groups, corporations, civic departments, even actors.

“A heartbreaking and tender performance... perfectly executed.”
